Direct the operations of the Systems Services Department, in its mission to provide top quality service-oriented support for the Center's staff and visitors. The Systems Services Department at SDSC is responsible for all desktop workstations and related servers at the Center, and manages the Center's Audio/Visual equipment, cable plant, computer operations staff, and on-site meeting facilities. |

The Desktop Systems group at SDSC is responsible for the procurement, support, and management of the center's workstation infrastructure. Various flavors of the Unix operating system are supported, along with a large complement of Macintosh and Windows/NT workstations. All in all, a total of almost 500 machines are managed by the group's personnel. |

The Workstation Services group was responsible for the procurement, support, and management of much of the center's Unix workstation infrastructure. This group was renamed after the addition of responsibility for the Macintosh and Windows/NT platforms. |
Unix Operations Manager

Directed a group of student employees and full-time personnel in support of the computational infrastructure at SCRI. Along with a small IBM SP/2, SCRI had a large workstation compute cluster, and a 64k processor Connection Machine CM-2. |
Unix System Administrator
Supercomputer Computations Research Institute, FSU August 1993 - July 1996 |
Managed SCRI's network of 35 IBM AIX workstations, and a compute cluster of more than 80 workstation nodes. Performed research in development of DQS, the distributed queueing system. |
Early Career
1990-1993 |
Held a graduate internship for 18 months as a system administrator for the FSU Computer Science Department. Also held two positions as an intern with Westinghouse Electric Corporation. |
