Welcome to my homepage. Feel free to explore the different sections. Given below is a brief biography. I completed my B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from IIT Bombay in 1998, M.E. in Chemical Engineering from City College of New York in 1999 and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Purdue University in 2003. I was a postdoctoral researcher for three years in the Bioengineering Department and the San Diego Supercomputer Center at University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Then I worked in the UCSD Bioengineering Department as an Assistant Scientist from October 2006 to November 2010. Since then, I am a Senior Research Scientist/Programmer at the San Diego Supercomputer Center and the Department of Bioengineering at UCSD.
My Ph.D. research was on fault diagnosis in complex chemical plants and my post-Ph.D. research has been focused on the applications of process systems engineering for studying complex biochemical processes and pathways. I have published about 30 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings and have made a dozen invited presentations. In 2005, I received the Best Paper Award jointly with my Ph.D. advisor Dr. Venkat Venkatasubramanian and co-advisor Dr. Raghunathan Rengaswamy for our paper published in the journal of Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence in 2004. My current research interests include applications of mathematical and systems engineering approaches to Biomedical Sciences.
