SDSC Cloud
SDSC Cloud Storage & Compute is the perfect choice for researchers with fixed budgets.
SDSC has pioneered research cloud services for more than a decade by providing private cloud compute instances and object storage to researchers who want self-service access to scalable cloud resources. SDSC Cloud is the perfect storage choice for researchers with fixed budgets because SDSC eliminates secondary fees such as bandwidth transfer fees, request fees, and regional migration fees. SDSC is rapidly expanding its SDSC Cloud GPU resources to match increased demand for elastic AI and machine learning workloads.
SDSC Cloud Advantages
Data Collaboration
Effortlessly share cloud data with colleagues or the public.
Flexible Compute
Spin up powerful instances on demand with or without GPU resources and customize the instance for your workflows.
Technical Support
Talk directly with SDSC Cloud engineers, who enjoy using their extensive experience to assist you.
Rates
Cloud Compute is billed by hours of use of each instance. More powerful instances or instances with increased storage cost more to run.
20 GB of ephemeral disk storage is provided with each instance at no additional cost. Additional storage for images, volumes, snapshots and instances that boot from volume will be charged.

Indirect Costs (IDC) for UC San Diego Users
Costs associated with Cloud Computing Services (research storage, managed services and cloud services) provided by SDSC are exempt from the application of IDC when acquired to support extramurally funded research. This includes Backup Storage (CommVault), Cloud Storage and Compute, Project Storage (NFS), Triton Shared Computing Cluster (TSCC), and Universal Scale Storage (Qumulo). When developing budgets for new research proposals, include these costs in the exclusions for modified total direct costs (MTDC).
