IT Architect 4 (Hybrid)
As a senior member of the HPC System Group in the Data Enabled Scientific Computing (DESC) Division, the Network and System Architect will provide technical expertise, leadership, and hands-on support in areas of research networking, systems architecture, and production operations for SDSC’s high-performance computing (HPC), storage, and networking systems. Working closely with team members in DESC, SDSC, and collaborators at UCSD and externally, the incumbent will lead and participate in technology evaluations, designs, and deployments to support a wide range of systems, including petascale supercomputers, advanced storage systems, HPC interconnects, and national research and engineering networking initiatives.

Computational Data Science Research Specialist
The Computational Data Science Research Specialist will join the Scientific Computing Applications group led by Andrea Zonca. The ideal candidate has a scientific background in any science domain and strong High Performance Computing and/or AI skills. Their primary role will be to work in long-term collaborations supporting the work of Domain Scientists using the SDSC systems focused on High Performance Computing (Expanse) and GPU/Deep Learning (Voyager and National Resource Platform HPC Subsystem).

Chief of Staff
Reporting to the San Diego Supercomputer (SDSC) Director, aligns SDSC directives with UCSD campus goals, provides overall strategic guidance, and implements managerial actions needed to support goals. Provides technical leadership with a high degree of expertise in key areas such as HPC, data science, and Cyberinfrastructure (CI). Develops long and short-term plans for the Center and is responsible for efforts to achieve SDSC’s overall goals. Determines outreach goals and looks for ways to maintain and raise SDSC’s leadership profile in HPC and CI. The Applications Programmer will design and program science gateway modules including those on the HUBzero platform. Scientific Software Developer
The Scientific Software Developer will work within the RCSB Protein Data Bank organization at SDSC to support RCSB.org, the preeminent resource worldwide for macromolecular structure data, yearly used by millions of researchers and educators around the world. RCSB.org is supported by a complex cloud-native microservice architecture that allows efficient search and data retrieval via web UIs and programmatic APIs. Work will encompass handling complex biological data, including 3D atomic data, in order to enable efficient search, retrieval and visualization.
