As a critical part of the Director’s Office the Chief of Staff works with the Director, Deputy Director, and Division Directors to define and execute center and division-wide goals. The Chief of Staff is principally responsible for defining the metrics needed to reach those goals. The Chief of Staff represents the Director in the prioritization of center-wide initiatives and leads efforts to recruit and retain a robust set of researchers.

Events Specialist 2
This position helps to develop, plan, and implement SDSC programs and events, from small to large in scale. Applicants with strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as technological knowledge of and experience with various event-related software platforms, are preferred. This position is with the External Relations Division.

Information Systems Analyst 3
The Information Systems Analyst will help evaluate, design, install, manage, and maintain a large installation of systems running Linux and Windows. The position requires working with critical data systems to lead the effort to deliver solutions that meet regulatory requirements including FISMA, HIPAA and CUI. The role also acts as the first line of technical support for customers supported by the Sherlock Division.

HPC Systems Engineer
The HPC Systems Engineer will work with a dedicated team tasked with maintaining the Center's High Performance Compute infrastructure.   This includes both computational and storage resources utilized by researchers nationwide as well those utilized by the UCSD campus. This position is with the Data-Enabled Scientific Computing (DESC) Division.

Research Software Engineer
The Research Software Engineer is a full stack developer with strong technical knowledge with interest and ability to develop creative solutions for computation, content management & data management with compelling user experience. Position will be filled either as a CMPTL AND DATA SCI RSCH SPEC 3 or a CMPTL AND DATA SCI RSCH SPEC 4, depending on experience of the candidate hired. Applications Programmer
The Applications Programmer will design and program science gateway modules including those on the HUBzero platform. Such modules may include specialized web applications for data input, analysis, and archiving, Jupyter notebooks for scientific computing, R applications, Matlab applications and other applications based on scientific software packages. This position is with the Sustainable Scientific Software Division.

Scientific Software Developer
The Scientific Software Developer will work within the RCSB Protein Data Bank organization at SDSC to support RCSB.org, the preeminent resource worldwide for macromolecular structure data, yearly used by millions of researchers and educators around the world. RCSB.org is supported by a complex cloud-native microservice architecture that allows efficient search and data retrieval via web UIs and programmatic APIs. Work will encompass handling complex biological data, including 3D atomic data, in order to enable efficient search, retrieval and visualization.
