Research Administrator 2
The Research Administrator 2 will be responsible for pre and post-award administration of federal, state, industrial/commercial and private funding sources for the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC).  The incumbent will provide analytical and financial support in proposal processing, budget development, and post-award contract and grant administration including activities associated with forecasting, planning, and managing of research portfolios. They will act as liaison to other campus departments, aid PIs on all financial matters including staffing, agency requirements and Center policy as well as interpret and distribute agency guidelines, advise post-award accounting staff of compliance and agency issues, acting as a department contact for Office of Contract and Grant Administration for extramural funds. The incumbent will also be responsible for post audit review of general and subsidiary ledgers, troubleshoot administrative/programmatic and accounting problems for PIs, monitor expenses to assure appropriateness and compliance with regulations.

 Computational and Data Science Research Specialist 4
As a member of the WIFIRE Lab at SDSC, the Computational and Data Science Research Specialist will apply advanced computational, data science, and CI software research and development principles to perform complex and broad projects, design and optimize tools, evaluate and recommend new technologies, and give technical presentations.

The Science Gateways Center of Excellence has two upcoming offerings for graduate students and undergraduate students. 
  • Summer 2024 SGX3 Internship Experience:
    Are you a graduate student planning your 2024 summer and seeking a career-building experience? Join us in Austin, TX, this summer for an internship experience where you will learn cyberinfrastructure and science gateway development skills. You will be funded by the Science Gateways Center of Excellence (http://sciencegateways.org/) to join us from June 3 – August 2, 2024, at the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) in Austin, TX.

  • SGX3 Virtual Coding Institute:
    The SGX3 Coding Institute is focused on gateway development for undergraduate students through a virtual coding experience. The workshop will take place over four weeks, from June 3-27, 2024. During these weeks, you will learn core skills needed to be productive in designing and maintaining science gateways. The program is presented as short tutorials alternated with practical exercises, and all instruction is done via live coding. Selected participants receive a stipend.
